Pyon Slams 5 Hits for Westwood
Saturday, September 15th , 2046
After a 5-hit effort to lead Westwood's 7-6 victory over the Toledo Saboteurs, third baseman Chun-yeong Pyon told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the USSL Double A-level is really something special."
The 20-year-old player earned his accolades today at Toledo Backyard Park with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Saboteurs.
"His swing is getting there," said Sixshooters skipper Tony Hernández, who spoke glowingly of Pyon after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Chun-yeong did that to perfection today."
Chun-yeong Pyon singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, walked in the 10th and doubled in the 13th.
This year Pyon has 6 home runs and a .283 batting average.
