Irving Blue Sox Win 3L AA Championship
Tuesday, September 25th , 2046
With a 7-3 win over the Crescent City Krewe tonight at Field of the Krewe, the Irving Blue Sox wrapped up their 4th title in team history.
Irving left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Blue Sox celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game.
"Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Irving manager Leonard Hall. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void."
A jovial mood filled the air as Irving celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works.
"We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Irving Blue Sox," the mayor said.
The champions completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Menard's AA and a 60-42 record.
