Highlanders Bernard Alonso to Miss Year Wednesday, August 8th , 2046 A blow for Bernard Alonso today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 7 months with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Alonso suffered the injury running the bases. Although officials from the Asheville Highlanders are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Alonso's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature. This year Alonso has hit at a .276 pace and produced 43 RBIs, 10 home runs and scored 51 runs. |
