Fighting Imps Spellbound, Morán Hurls No-Hitter Thursday, June 21st , 2046 Fans at The Igloo got a rare gift today as León Morán of the Polar Bears tossed a no-hitter against the Ithaca Fighting Imps. Although Morán did not appear to have his best stuff in the early innings, he turned masterful as the game went on, ultimately striking out 6 and walking 1 in a 9-0 Billings victory. "We had our chances in the first few innings when he was hittable, and we couldn't capitalize on them," Ithaca manager Gary Thomas said later. "In the last four or five innings, he totally shut us down." In all, Morán faced only 28 batters. While getting into his groove, he was helped by several defensive gems. "I don't remember a better-pitched game," Polar Bears manager Marvin Nelson said. "And how about our defense today?" So far this season Morán has 3 wins and 3 losses and a 5.10 ERA.
