Dogfish Head Mears Raps 3 Homers

Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Dogfish Head-Lake Monsters game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Milton third baseman Mark Mears thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Milton to a 9-2 win over Vermont.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Mears said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Mears was 4-for-5 on the day with 6 runs batted in.
Mark Mears hit a two-run home run off Roy Duyan in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Roy Duyan in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Armando Mata in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
So far this season Mears has put up a .335 batting average with 57 hits, 12 home runs and 42 RBIs.
