Hit Parade: Byrd Gets Cycle Friday, July 20th , 2046 Santa Barbara's Bob Byrd accomplished what few others have done -- he hit for the cycle, collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game. For the day, Byrd finished 4-for-4 with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored and helped the Golden Cranes knock off the Vermont Lake Monsters 9-1 at Crane Field. "I didn't even know I was about to hit for the cycle until after," Byrd told reporters following the game. "One of the guys mentioned it when I got back to the dugout." Bob Byrd singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Bob Wheelock in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and tripled in the 7th. To date this year Byrd is batting .246 with 4 home runs.
