Nuyten's Condition Worse, Suffers Another Setback Thursday, July 12th , 2046 All is not well with Vinnie Nuyten in his recovery from knee tendinitis. The 27-year-old Knights first baseman has already reached some significant steps in his rehabilitation, but his manager said that the team will continue to be cautious with Nuyten and take his progression one day at a time, especially after the setback yesterday. "Yesterday he was feeling good but he didn't do a lot on the field," he said. "Today he was supposed to be on the field doing light stuff and then gradually start working right back up. I think he overdid it." A post-workout examination revealed that Nuyten had re-injured himself and would now miss at least one week because of it. So far this season Nuyten is hitting .253 with 4 home runs, 23 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 47 hits in 186 at-bats and a .276 OBP. |
