Outstanding Pitcher Award Winner Announced

Tough in the clutch -- that's what a bullpen specialist needs to be. And one of the best in the league this season was Sancho Altagracia of the Chicago Tula, who was today announced as the winner of the USPL Single A Outstanding Pitcher Award.

In 2046 Altagracia appeared in 29 games and converted no saves in 1 save opportunity. The Tula star had a 3-5 mark with a 2.13 ERA. He also chalked up 140 strikeouts and walked 38 in 114 innings of work. Opposing hitters managed a .161 average against him.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jorge Rodríguez of the Athletic Club KC U-24 finished second in voting, while Eitoku Tanaka of the Myrtle Beach Seahawks finished third.
