Injury Sidelines Valentín Jiménez for Season
Thursday, July 12th , 2046
Myrtle Beach starting pitcher Valentín Jiménez could miss the remainder of the season because of bone chips in his elbow. He exited yesterday's Levittown game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Jiménez would be out 4 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
In 12 starts this year Jiménez has posted 1 win while suffering 9 losses. He has pitched 48 innings, allowed 61 hits, struck out 32 and has a 4.88 ERA.
