Airmen Hitless Against Gómez Saturday, May 12th , 2046 Fans at Crawdads Field got a rare gift today as Ronnie Gómez of the Crawdads tossed a no-hitter against the Alameda Airmen. Although Gómez did not appear to have his best stuff in the early innings, he turned masterful as the game went on, ultimately striking out 11 and walking 1 in a 3-0 Cut Off victory. "We had our chances in the first few innings when he was hittable, and we couldn't capitalize on them," Alameda manager Markus Richardson said later. "In the last four or five innings, he totally shut us down." In all, Gómez faced only 28 batters. While getting into his groove, he was helped by several defensive gems.
