Cattlemen Bridle Bullets, 3-2
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen knocked off the Baltimore Bullets, 3-2, at The Cattle Pen. Numberto Pencíl was a big reason Ft. Worth won. The designated hitter was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ft. Worth reliever Benny Berry was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Craig Wash took the loss. Maverick Handley earned his 15th save in 16 chances.
Pencíl had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-0 fastball from Craig Wash, he banged a run-scoring triple to right-center, giving the Cattlemen a 3-2 lead. It was the 1st triple of the year for Pencíl.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Pencíl told the Ft. Worth Times.
The Cattlemen raised their record to 33-52.
