Shredders Rally to Eke Out Win
|
With catcher Divine Diablo leading the charge, the Hollywood Shredders defeated the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 5-4, at The Cattle Pen. Diablo, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2030 draft, went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. The win was credited to Willie Steele in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Maverick Handley took the loss. With the win over Ft. Worth, the Shredders improved to 39-29.
Diablo had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 2-2 fastball from Maverick Handley, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Shredders a 5-4 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Diablo.
"It was terrific getting this win," Diablo said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
