In a crucial game, the Crescent City Krewe put on their best show, beating the Irving Blue Sox by a final score of 5-4 today. Tomás Rodríguez threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Crescent City and Irving are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-5 affair.
Had León García not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, García hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Krewe.
"This was a good win," said García.
Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Field of the Krewe in Kenner.
