Carcia Excels, But Ducks Win
The Long Island Ducks withstood an impressive performance by Capital Hill first baseman Kerry Carcia to defeat the Interns, 14-12, at Alouettes Ballpark. Carcia was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Long Island pitcher Víctor Soto got the win. He's now 2-2. Seong-rae Sin was tagged with the loss. Larry Wilson finished to wrap up his 11th save.

The most important at-bat for Long Island came in the top of the ninth inning, when third baseman Cam McIntosh stroked a first pitch changeup to center for a 2-run single, putting Long Island up, 14-12.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said McIntosh.

Long Island, at 36-54, occupies last place in the Silver R.
