Big Day for Biggs as Stingers Down Billy Goats, 8-6
|
Toledo designated hitter Alfred Howard Biggs helped his team beat the Colorado Billy Goats, 8-6. Biggs, who led the SL in runs with 79 in 2044, went 3 for 4 for the Stingers. Rob Bates came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-5. Mike Tate recorded the save, his 5th.
Biggs had a key at-bat for Toledo early in the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Toledo an early 3-0 lead.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Biggs.
The Stingers now have a record of 19-27.
