The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish got a superb performance from pitcher Jeff Morehead. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Long Island. The Ducks won the game, 3-1. Morehead threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The save went to Dave Carroll, number 6 for him. The Ducks raised their record to 26-39.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Cam McIntosh was at the plate when Long Island scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Ducks to go in front, 3-1.

McIntosh called the triumph "a good team win."
