Beavers Top Rhinos, 4-1
|
The Northwest Territory Beavers defeated the Redwood Rhinos, 4-1, at The Zoo today. Leading the charge for Northwest Territory was shortstop Arnie Dunn. He went 2-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Chien-shih Chen closed it out for his 18th save. The 6th-place Beavers lifted their record to 29-31.
Northwest Territory used the bat of Jerry Duggleby to get the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Beavers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I thought we played a nice game," Duggleby told the Northwest Territory Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
