The Beaumont Crossbeaus did just enough to secure a victory over the Redwood Rhinos, 4-3, at The Zoo. Nobody did more than pitcher Douggie Westcott. The Crossbeaus, at 37-20, lead by one game in their division.

Beaumont used the bat of Matt Greene to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Crossbeaus ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Greene told the Beaumont Herald.
