Warheads Prevail, 5-3, Over Plattsburgh
|
The Amarillo Warheads knocked off the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 5-3, at Ballpark of Henderson. James Gray was a big reason Amarillo won. The third baseman was 2-4 with a home run. Amarillo reliever Colm Broomfield picked up the win to move to 4-0. Kolya Putilov suffered the loss. The Puffer Fish, at 35-19, have lost 5 straight games.
Amarillo took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 3-3, when Dirk McDowell hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Amarillo in front, 4-3.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," McDowell said.
