The Flint Crush wasted an inspired, 7.1-inning effort from starter Ángel Vallés, falling 2-0 to the Long Island Ducks at Ducks Park. Barney Brown, now 4-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. The last-place Ducks have won 5 in a row.
Kenneth Spivey hit a solo home run off Ángel Vallés in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Ducks ahead, 1-0. In addition to the homer, Spivey had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
