Beavers Sneak By Ducks, 2-1
|
Long Island pitcher Larry Wilson gave the Beavers all they could handle, but in the end, Northwest Territory left Beaver Town with a win, 2-1. Wilson allowed no runs on 4 hits over 7.1 innings. Long Island has now lost 12 straight.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Northwest Territory trailing 1-0, Arturo Valéncia hit a fastball from Jesús Pérez to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Beavers had a walk-off win.
"I was a little disappointed," said Long Island manager Kevin McCoy. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
