Grey Wolves Best Divided in Pitching Duel
|
Vancouver Grey Wolves starter Jong-yong Ha hurled his team past the D.C. Divided, 2-1. Michael Knight came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. Ainanani Oliwa, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
The Divided had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Grey Wolves going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Tom Dickinson came to the plate. Dickinson hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 fastball from D.C. hurler John Rigsby. It was Dickinson's 3rd double of the year.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Vancouver manager David Krause said.
The 7th-place Divided have dropped 4 straight games.
