Alouettes Ballpark was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish and Capital Hill Interns.
The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish took Capital Hill pitcher Brian Campbell's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Alouettes Ballpark. The final score had Plattsburgh getting past the Interns, 3-2. Campbell went 7 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. Plattsburgh pitcher Alan Gilbert got the win, upping his record to 3-1. Augusto Rey got the loss. Shuji Ando sewed up the save, his 3rd.
Plattsburgh relied on the hitting of Mike Baxter to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Puffer Fish on top, 3-2. For the game, Baxter had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
Baxter expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
With the win, Plattsburgh upped its record to 25-14.
