Octopi Deal Interns 4-1 Defeat
The Ogallala Octopi faced a tough opponent in Capital Hill pitcher Paco Meza, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Alouettes Ballpark by a final score of 4-1. Meza went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. Alberto Nieves got the win, improving to 2-4. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Ogallala now sits in 9th place in the Silver R at 14-18.

The Octopi got an important contribution from first baseman Antoine Mercier, who in the top of the fourth hit a 2-2 fastball into left for a run-scoring triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Octopi ahead, 2-0.

"We did a lot of things right," said Mercier.
