Greene Excels, But Puffer Fish Win
Beaumont got a terrific game from first baseman Matt Greene. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Plattsburgh, 10-6. Greene went 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Alan Gilbert notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. With the win, Plattsburgh raised its record to 14-9.

It could have been a different outcome for Plattsburgh, had it not been for Romain Picot, the 20-year old shortstop . Picot contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Plattsburgh up, 8-5.

Picot expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
