Elite Tag Divided with 6-1 Loss
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Detroit Elite and D.C. Divided.
The D.C. Divided got a superb performance from pitcher Scott Morrison, but the Detroit Elite still won the game, 6-1. Morrison threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Picking up the win was Jesús Crisotomo. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. The left--hander struck out 1 and walked 4.
Detroit used the clutch hitting of Marços Mansilha to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Elite ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Mansilha told the Detroit Daily. "It's as simple as that."
The Elite, now 16-18, have won 4 in a row.
