U-21 Stick Otters with 3-0 Loss
|
Athletic Club KC rode a good effort from starter Nicholas Beer to beat the Tulsa Otters at Ballpark of Elkhorn City. The final score was 3-0. Beer went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 9-1. Edison Washington sewed up the save, his 6th.
The game could have flipped with no one out in the top of the sixth. But Nicholas Beer made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 2nd and Tulsa trailing 3-0, Beer threw a splitter to Bake McBride and McBride hit into a double play.
The first-place U-21 have won 4 straight.
