Zoomies Post 3-2 Win Over Greenport
|
Shady Side rode a good effort from starter Bhu Pahayahay to beat the Greenport Harbor Whales at Ballpark of Robbins. The final score was 3-2. The winning pitcher was Pahayahay, now 1-1. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2. Richard McCord earned the save, his 13th in 17 tries.
Shady Side relied on the hitting of Darrell Sizemore to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Zoomies on top, 3-0. For the game, Sizemore had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Pahayahay told the Shady Side Daily News.
The win gives the Zoomies a record of 27-58.
