Getting a good performance from center fielder Toto Wolff, the Ogallala Octopi defeated the Capital Hill Interns, 12-1. Wolff went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Octopi. Alberto Nieves, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held the Interns to 1 run on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The save went to Henny Olthuis, number 1 for him.
George Jones hit a 2-run double off Fernando Ramírez in the bottom of the third, which put the Octopi in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Jones had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Jones said.
Ogallala is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 4th win in 12 games.
