Beavers Prevail, 1-0, Over Amarillo

The home crowd had a good time watching the Amarillo Warheads and Northwest Territory Beavers get after it.
Northwest Territory got a first-rate effort from pitcher Juan Pujol, who frustrated Amarillo hitters en route to a 1-0 Beavers triumph at Beaver Town. Pujol got the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Pujol allowed no runs. Chien-shih Chen recorded his 5th save for Northwest Territory.
In the bottom of the fourth, Northwest Territory left fielder Arturo Valéncia had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out, Valéncia stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, Northwest Territory. For the game, he was 2-3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Amarillo manager Juan Díaz said following the tough loss.
Amarillo drops to 6-6.
