Alexander Slugs Flanderses to 6-2 Win
|
The Hudsonville Flanderses bested the Quebec City Baby Blues by a score of 6-2, with center fielder Dave Alexander getting the main credit. On the day, Alexander hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Flanderses. Hudsonville reliever José Benítez picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Jeff Vázquez took the loss. The save went to Hubert Johnson, his 2nd this season.
With Hudsonville trailing 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Alexander hit a fastball from Jeff Vázquez for a 2-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Flanderses ahead, 3-2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Alexander told the Hudsonville Citizen.
The 7th-place Flanderses have won 4 in a row.
