In the 8-7 Redwood win over Beaumont, the impact of Kerry Carcia was substantial. Carcia, who is rated as the 54th best prospect by BNN, went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Félix Hernández recorded the save for Redwood, his 1st of the season. Beaumont is 6-3 after the loss.
The Rhinos got a lift from designated hitter Carlos Chávez, who in the top of the seventh hit a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season put the Rhinos on top, 8-2.
