Centennial Get Past Quebec City for 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Fort Knox Centennial and the Quebec City Baby Blues, pitcher José Zamora was masterful on the mound. The Fort Knox right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Je-ju Pak came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 5-0. César Pinto locked down his 3rd save.
Fort Knox used the timely hitting of Emílio Rey to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Centennial on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Quebec City manager Seth Rice. "The effort was great."
The Baby Blues, at 17-44, have lost 11 straight games.
