Melanson Slugs Baby Blues to 8-5 Win
Behind a fine performance from Jon Melanson, the Quebec City Baby Blues knocked off the Shady Side Zoomies, 8-5. Melanson went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Baby Blues. Quebec City pitcher Keanu Kolora got the win. He's now 2-0. Ramón Espinoza was tagged with the loss. Milton Loughens closed it out for his 2nd save.

With Quebec City leading 4-3 in the top of the fifth, Melanson hit a fastball from Natalino Gasco for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Baby Blues ahead, 7-3.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Shady Side manager Ken Beach.

Shady Side is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
