Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Tula
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Chicago Tula got the win.
The Kennesaw Jets got a sterling performance from pitcher Chester Bishop, but the Chicago Tula still prevailed, 4-2. Bishop threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Chicago reliever William Jordan picked up the win to move to 2-1. Fernando Rojas suffered the loss.
Chicago used a clutch hit from Jason Bowers to snatch the win. The pinch hitter belted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tula ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
Bowers called the triumph "a good team win."
The 8th-place Jets have dropped 4 straight games.
