Chukars Earn 2-1 Win Versus Blue Dragons
|
The Levittown Blue Dragons and Idaho Falls Chukars provided some drama for the home crowd.
In a low-scoring game between the Idaho Falls Chukars and the Levittown Blue Dragons, pitcher Steve Sanford was masterful on the mound. The Idaho Falls right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Mark Kiner earned the save, his 1st, for the Chukars.
Idaho Falls used a timely hit from Ray McKnight to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Chukars ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
Afterward, Chukars manager Jorge Silva was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
The win puts Idaho Falls at 28-41.
