Baby Blues Fall Short, 6-5, at Bethlehem
|
The Bethlehem Angel Kitties beat the Quebec City Baby Blues, 6-5, at Kittie Park. Bethlehem left fielder Neyo Caguioa had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Damien Schmitt got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 9 and walking 3. Carl Rogers closed it out for his 5th save.
A key moment came in the bottom of the fifth inning when Angel Kitties catcher Mike Lee socked a 0-1 slider to right for a 2-run single, putting Bethlehem up, 5-3.
Lee expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
Quebec City, at 4-14, is off to a poor start in 2046.
