Harbor Whales Upend Otters, 3-2
|
José Mercado pitched well, but the Tulsa Otters still lost the game, falling 3-2 to the Greenport Harbor Whales at Ballpark of Hughesville. Greenport pitcher Grady Booth got the win, upping his record to 1-0. José Mercado got the loss. José Martínez picked up the save, his 3rd.
Greenport catcher Iván Monterrey contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball into right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Harbor Whales ahead, 3-1.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Monterrey said.
The win lifts Greenport to a record of 6-6.
