7 Straight Wins for Centennial
|
The Centennial grabbed a win, 3-2, at Kittie Park, overcoming a fine effort from Bethlehem pitcher Li-zhi Lai. Lai went 6 innings and allowed no runs. César Pinto, now 2-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The Centennial, now 7-0, have stormed out of the gates.
Fort Knox used the timely hitting of Derek Tyerman to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Centennial on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Tough loss," said Bethlehem manager Luis Mendoza. "But we'll learn from it."
