Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Uruguayans
The Germantown Uruguayans trumped the Quebec City Baby Blues, 8-5, at Dylan Park. Germantown right fielder Juan Rivera was terrific. He was 2-3 with a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winner in relief was Luis Fernández. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Carlos Rosas earned the save, his 1st.

The result might have been different, had it not been for Ye-qing Zou, the Germantown first baseman. Zou had a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Uruguayans ahead, 8-5. For the game, Zou had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Zou told the Germantown Herald.

Quebec City now has a record of 1-3.
