Washington Shuts Out Reapers, Campbell Winner
|
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Brian Campbell of the Washington Generals proved the point at Washington Park today, holding the Grim Reapers to 3 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Campbell made us look real bad today," Reapers manager Terrence Eler said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Campbell had 6 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Generals took the 5-0 win.
So far this season Campbell has a 4-2 record, 7 starts, 45.1 innings, 37 strikeouts and a 0.79 ERA.
