Hobeaus Stay Hot With 4-2 Win
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus beat the Pontiac Godfathers by a score of 4-2. Smoky Mountain center fielder Ben Lindsay deserved the lion's share of the credit. Lindsay went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk for the Hobeaus. Clarence Green, now 2-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. The third-place Hobeaus have won 7 in a row.

Smoky Mountain used the clutch hitting of Jesús Fernández to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Hobeaus the lead, 4-2. For the game, Fernández had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Hobeaus," said Lindsay.
