Vandals Drop Generals, 5-3
|
In the 5-3 Eugene win over Washington, the impact of Jorge Villarreal was substantial. Villarreal, who is tied for 7th in the SA in bases on balls with 31, went 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Erik Walton sewed up the save, his 4th. The victory puts Eugene at 28-42.
It could have been a different outcome for Eugene, had it not been for Seung-hun Kim, the 23-year old center fielder . Kim contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Eugene up, 3-0.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Villarreal.
