Hawks Trounce Chiefs, 10-1
|
Caldwell had no answer for Laredo Hawks hurler William Pettersen, who overwhelmed Chiefs hitters as the Hawks coasted to victory, 10-1. Laredo, at 9-11, occupies 7th place in the Premier A.
Arturo Collazo drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Laredo. The 19-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Tim Chuter. It was his 11th RBI of the season.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Laredo manager Leonardo Sánchez.
