Charleston right-hander Miguel Angel Martínez helped his team edge Toledo by the score of 2-1. Martínez kept the opposing lineup in check. Charleston goes to 7-5.

The Stingers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Battery going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 32-year old second baseman Bryant Dixon came to the plate. Dixon hit a run-scoring triple on a 0-2 fastball from Toledo hurler Craig Fitzgerald. It was Dixon's 1st triple of the year.
