Hermit Crabs Edge Vibes, 4-3
|
Rocky Mountain right fielder Hambleton Oliver was sensational. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Huntington beat the Vibes, 4-3. The win was credited to Juan Ramírez in relief. His record improves to 7-1. Jerome Henderson took the loss. Eisaku Ishikawa notched his 6th save in 9 chances.
The Vibes had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Hermit Crabs going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old first baseman Alanzo Gaufi came to the plate. Gaufi hit a 3-run home run on a 1-0 fastball from Rocky Mountain hurler Cory Fisher. It was Gaufi's 13th home run of the year.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Gaufi said after the game.
The Hermit Crabs own a robust 45-21 mark.
