Seahawks Earn 2-1 Win Versus Blue Dragons
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks had to overcome a fine performance from Levittown pitcher Jim Bennett to grab a 2-1 win at The Cave at Levittown. Bennett allowed no runs over 6.2 innings. At 5-3, the Seahawks have played well so far.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Jonathan Long to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Seahawks on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We were in it," said Levittown manager Terry King. "We just didn't score enough runs."
