The Cave at Levittown was the site of the home opener for the Levittown Blue Dragons. The contest featured a prime matchup between Ralph Winters of the visiting South Beach Blaze and Chris French of the Blue Dragons. The final score was 5-1, the Blaze getting the win. Chris French turned in the best performance. South Beach reliever Jalo Lappi picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Rodger Asmus shouldered the loss.

South Beach used the clutch hitting of Bill Zimmerman to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blaze ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

In comments to the South Beach Citizen, Zimmerman insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
