4-1 Loss to Generals Extends Eugene Losing Streak
|
The Washington Generals picked up a win at Washington Park, knocking off the Eugene Vandals, 4-1. Starting pitcher Enrique Montoya played a key role in the triumph. Montoya went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 11. His record improves to 2-2. Lung Zhou picked up the save, his 8th.
Making an impact for the home team was Steve Holden. In the bottom of the first, the 22-year old shortstop had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Generals.
Holden called the win "a team effort."
The losses continue to mount for Eugene, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
