Generals Top Commodores, 5-2, Behind Montoya
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Put-In-Bay Commodores and Washington Generals get after it.
Washington Generals starter Enrique Montoya pitched a strong game against the Put-In-Bay Commodores at Washington Park, leading the Generals to victory, 5-2. The save went to Lung Zhou, number 7 for him.
Montoya was effective against the Commodores, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The right-hander limited Put-In-Bay to just 2 runs on 3 hits over 8 innings.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Montoya said.
The victory gives Washington a record of 30-20.
